Automated Discovery of Functional Components of Proteins from Amino-Acid Sequences Based on Rough Sets and Change of Representation

چکیده
Protein structure analysis from DNA sequences is an important and fast growing area in both computeT science and biochemistry. Although interesting approaches have been studied, it is very dificult to capture the characteristics of protein, since even a simple protein are made of more than 100 amino acids, which makes biochemical experiments very dificult to detect functional components. For this reason, almost all the problems in this field are left unsolved and it is very important to develop a system which assists researchers on molecular biology to remove the dificulties caused by combinatorial explosions. In this paper we report a system, called MWI (Molecular biologists’ Workbench version l.O), which extracts knowledge from amino-acid sequences by controlling application of domain knowledge automatically. We apply this method to comparative analysis of lysozyme and LXlactalbumin. The results show that we obtain several interesting results from amino-acid sequences, which have not been reported before.

متن کاملDesigning Of Degenerate Primers-Based Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) For Amplification Of WD40 Repeat-Containing Proteins Using Local Allignment Search Method
Degenerate primers-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR) are commonly used for isolation of unidentified gene sequences in related organisms. For designing the degenerate primers, we propose the use of local alignment search method for searching the conserved regions long enough to design an acceptable primer pair. To test this method, a WD40 repeat-containing domain protein from Beauveria bass...
متن کاملAn Evolutionary Relationship Between Stearoyl-CoA Desaturase (SCD) Protein Sequences Involved in Fatty Acid Metabolism
Background: Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) is a key enzyme that converts saturated fatty acids (SFAs) to monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) in fat biosynthesis. Despite being crucial for interpreting SCDs’ roles across species, the evolutionary relationship of SCD proteins across species has yet to be elucidated. This study aims to present this evolutionary relationship based on amino aci...
متن کاملComparative Analysis of Amino-acid sequences based on Rough Set Theory and Change of Representation
Protein structure analysis from DNA sequences is an important and fast growing area in both computer science and biochemistry. One of the most important problems is that two proteins, both of which have the similar three-dimensional structure, have different functions, such as ll/sozyme and lactalbumin. In such cases, comparative analysis of both amino acid sequences is effective to detect the ...
متن کاملShort communication:Effect of salt and alkaline on the physicochemical properties of the protein isolates extracted from lanternfish (Benthosema pterotum)
Food proteins have long been recognized for their nutritional and functional properties. The nutritional properties of proteins are associated with their amino acid content. On the other hand, the functional properties of proteins relate to their contribution to the physiochemical and sensory properties of foods (Sila and Bougatef, 2016). Marine organisms contain proteins with high quantities o...
